103rd Street Corridor 5k Community Walk-Run-Ride

May 16 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

103rd Street Takeover: A Corridor-Wide Movement. Chicago United.

This event has taken place. Photos from the day are below.

On May 16, 2026, Chicago came together on the Far South Side for the 103rd Street Takeover, a community walk, run, ride, and festival celebrating the people, places, and possibilities of the 103rd Street corridor.

We activated the full stretch of 103rd Street, from Corliss High School to Julian High School, moving through Rosemoor, Roseland, Fernwood, and Washington Heights.

This corridor connects us every day. On May 16, we moved through it together.

This was a community-led, corridor-wide effort that brought together residents, schools, organizations, local businesses, and leaders, aligned around unity, visibility, and shared investment in our neighborhoods.

In partnership with Chicago Peace Runners 773, the day bridged the West Side and South Side, uniting communities across Chicago to kick off a summer rooted in peace, connection, and shared purpose in the best city in the world.

Chicagoans joined us for a morning of movement, music, and community pride. Walk. Run. Ride. Connect.

The finish line culminated in a community festival at Julian High School and Culture Canvas Café & Art Gallery, creating space to connect, celebrate, and continue building a culture of togetherness.

Thank you, Chicago!
