Our Mission
The Rosemoor Community Association is dedicated to fostering a vibrant, safe, and prosperous neighborhood by empowering residents, supporting local businesses, and enhancing community assets. We are committed to developing and revitalizing our area, while cultivating strong relationships within our community and with neighboring communities. Our mission includes beautifying our neighborhood, improving its livability, and securing sustainable resources for Rosemoor. Through collaborative efforts, we strive to preserve our legacy, address challenges, and create opportunities that promote the common good and general welfare of all who live, work, and invest in Rosemoor. Our purpose is to build a resilient, interconnected community that thrives on the active participation and shared vision of its residents, businesses, and institutions.
Our Community
The boundaries extend from 100th to 107th Streets (north to south) and from Michigan to Cottage Grove Avenues (west to east). Rosemoor is made up of approximately 3,000 residents, 67 businesses, four elementary schools, and 30 churches. Rosemoor has 102 blocks, 13 streets and places, and 12 avenues.

RCA has partnerships with 5th District Police Department, Chicago State University, Far South Chicago Coalition (FSCC), Greater Roseland Chamber of Commerce, Metropolitan Family Services, Chicago Neighborhood Initiative, Pullman Community Development Corporation, Historical Pullman Foundation, Phalanx Family Services, Roseland Business Development Council, Roseland Community Hospital, Roseland Heights Community Association, Chatham Heights Association, Calumet Area Industrial Commission, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Roseland-Pullman-Kensington (RPK), Street Improvement Association (SIA Subsidiary of the Special Service Area – SSA), West Chesterfield Community Association, My Block My Hood My City, T.R.E.A.D., Roses In Roseland, Chicago Bungalow Association, St. John de la Salle Academy, local Legislators along with surrounding schools, businesses and churches in order to provide you with the latest important information about our community.
Our History
The organization Rosemoor Community Association, Inc. was founded in 1937 and incorporated on April 4, 1941 by Harry Elliot, Annabelle Peek and Palmer Magliocco. Edward Hughes was the Secretary of State of Illinois.

Our Accomplishments
- Started the "Rosemoor Connection" newsletter
- Sponsored Summer School Program for "at risk youth" at St. John de la Salle (with a $10,000 grant from the State of Illinois)
- Installed 12 banners outlining the Rosemoor perimeter
- Sponsored business reception - introduced the city's SSA program
- Initiated the Business Person of the Year Award
- Sponsored annual Rosemoor Community Fest through the Mayor's Office of Special Events
- Sponsored School Board Election Initiative, "Get Out the Vote" (received $1,000 grant from Chicago Public Schools for this local school council initiative)
- Created the permanent "Welcome to Rosemoor" structural sign at the gateway to Rosemoor (100th & Michigan)
- Initiated the RCA Youth Awards Ceremony to recognize outstanding eighth grade youth within the Rosemoor community
- Prevented the further exploitation of gas stations, fast food, and liquor stores into the community
- Created the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Bridge Initiative and completed Phase I with a dedication ceremony on August 27, 2011. Official "Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Bridge" sign installed by IDOT on January 15, 2013
- Created website displaying details of the organization and upcoming community events
- Started annual Police and Firefighters Appreciation event
- Host Annual RCA Christmas Tree Give-A-Way
- 12 MLK Gateway Initiative Gardens along 100th Street from Michigan to Dauphin.
