Police and Firefighter Appreciation Day
RCA understands the enormous task of meeting our goal to have a community free of drugs, gangs and other related criminal behavior and activities. Having the foresight to host an event that celebrates both our local Police and Firefighters annually sets RCA apart from many community organizations. 2022 marked the 11th year that we recognized our frontline workers. In the past years we have coupled our annual “Police and Firefighters Appreciation Day” with entertainment from youth organizations such as the Maggie Daley After-School Matters, Praize Productions, along with many of the surrounding organizations and have received a tremendous outpouring of support from the community. This annual event has created a space for youth to express their appreciation for the local police and firefighters without ridicule.

RCA Summer Youth Program

Annual Fundraiser
Each year RCA has an event that reflects our core beliefs. The funds raised during this dynamic event gives our members, partners, family, friends, constituents, and all those within and outside of the community the opportunity to support us in our role. Our campaign to engage this group in our common goal and objective of “a community whose residents are active change agents for the betterment of all” gets demonstrated by the many programs carried out during the calendar year. We look forward to this culmination with anticipation of bigger and better things yet to come.
RCA Christmas Tree Give-A-Way
With the aid of Ada S. Mckinley Community Services and their partnership with the Christmas Tree Ship Committee, RCA has a successful Christmas Tree Give-A-Way each year. Families throughout the Rosemoor community are chosen with the assistance of the churches who are always committed to helping to better it’s congregation as well as the neighborhood: St. John de la Salle, Pullman Christian Reformed Church, Pullman Presbyterian Church, and Resurrection Church of Chicago. This could not be a success without the volunteers who make the trip to Navy Pier to retrieve the trees on behalf of RCA.
100th St Gardens
Along the 100th Street corridor from Michigan Avenue to Dauphin, twelve vibrant themed gardens brighten the expressway’s edge, transforming the corridor into a blooming space. Lovingly maintained by Rosemoor residents, these green spaces not only beautify the neighborhood but also strengthen community bonds. Each garden tells its own unique story that celebrates local pride and natural beauty.
MLK Gateway Initiative
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Gateway Initiative was a plan conceived in May of 2011 to dedicate the bridge over the Bishop Ford Expressway, between 99th and 100th Streets, of King Drive to honor Dr. King’s legacy. This was inspired by the fact that it is the only bridge along the 14 mile stretch of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Chicago.
